“ Just an email to say thank you very much for yesterday.  It was a wonderful addition to a week focused on 'Healthy Bodies, Happy Minds'.  Staff told me they hadn't laughed so much in a long time.  It was also noted how inclusive your approach was and how well your team responded to children with additional needs.  The children have been full of enthusiasm today and have so much to talk about since their visit to the Circus.  The day was organised really well.  We'll look forward to another visit next year! “

" Yesterday we had our circus workshop from Tim and it was FANTASTIC! There was so much excitement throughout the school and children were beaming from start to finish. The workshop was adapted to suit the age and needs of the children perfectly.
Teachers commented on how brilliant the session was and all the children had a wonderful time and asked if they could do it again soon. Thank you so much for all your hard work and support in organising this."

" Just wanted to thank you for providing yet another fabulous day for our year 3 children. Tom, Alan and John were so enthusiastic throughout the day and thoroughly entertaining! The children all learnt new skills but most importantly had a huge amount of fun! We really look forward to having you back again at Danes Hill School! "

" Just wanted to send you a quick message to express our thanks for a wonderfully exciting day at Earls Colne Primary School. Tim, Tilly and Andy injected a huge amount of fun into our week - something that has largely been missing over the last eighteen months due to covid. All the children, from smallest to biggest, and the adults enjoyed both the shows and workshops and we were just sad you weren’t with us for longer. A great company with super performers - we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to others and hope to welcome you back in the future."

" I would like to say a huge thank you to you for organising the Circus Sensible workshop. Mr Obby was absolutely superb and had the students engaged and participating from the minute he walked in. As an SEMH school I cannot thank you enough for giving the students an incredible experience. Please send the invoice through to me and I will arrange for the finance department to send you a new supplier form. We will definitely be requesting your services again during the summer term."

" I just wanted to write and say how much we enjoyed circus sensibles workshops today. The children were absolutely enraptured and so thrilled at all the new skills they had acquired. Thank you to Tim and Jose for their brilliant energy which they (somehow) kept going right up until the last slot. The way they adapted each session to the age of the girls was also so appreciated and well thought through."

The Science of Circus

"Complex tasks such as juggling produce significant changes to the structure of the brain, according to scientists at Oxford University.
In the journal, Nature Neuroscience, the scientists say they saw a 5% increase in white matter - the cabling network of the brain." In brief, learning a new skill such as Juggling can hard wire our brains to work better and faster! Circus skills help develop and improve concentration skills. This is particularly evident in those children with shorter attention spans. When we run Circus skills workshops in schools the teachers are often amazed that one or more children who usually have a problem concentrating are doing better than anyone else in the class! Learning Circus skills also offers great benefits in terms of physical co-ordination and physical fitness. Circus workshops fit very well into the school curriculum under PE and co-ordination development. In fact there are many areas where Circus workshops offer great opportunities for curriculum enrichment.

Activities such as Circus skills have been used with great success as an educational tool, as an aid to learning as well as therapeutically with children at risk and with children with special needs. Autistic children have been observed to respond particularly well to Circus skills in schools. Circus skills are an opportunity for children and adults to discover and develop skills such as Concentration, Information retention, Concept visualisation, hand eye co-ordination and self awareness. These skills can then be used in many other settings including social situations and in conventional educational settings whilst learning the core subjects.
