" Just wanted to say a huge thank you for our circus skills day today. What a fabulous way to end our first week. Pete you were wonderful - you pitched the skills so well for our children. It was fun and educational. We haven’t had an assembly or done whole school  activities for almost 2 years so it was just magical seeing all the children together, laughing, cheering and most of all collectively showing resilience when trying try new things. You reiterated and modelled that it is ok to make mistakes and that’s how we learn. You created an exciting yet safe atmosphere that enabled some of our most vulnerable children to have the courage to take part and stand up in front of the whole school. I’m sure it will be a day that won’t forget. Thank you ever so much "

" We had a fabulous day on Tuesday when Circus Sensible came to our school. All the children from Nursery to Year 6 were catered for and had a great time. The show was hilarious, the children and staff were active participants and even a show for the parents after school too. Will definitely book them again. Thank you very much for a fab day :-) “

“We booked Circus Sensible to welcome back our students ranging from Nursery to Year 6. The team treated them to a fantastic day of displays and workshops which were engaging for all year groups. We would strongly recommend them for any junior school looking to treat their students to a day of fun and excitement.”

“ Just thought I would take the time to let you know about our Big Top experience was on Monday………………… IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! Andy and Oliver did you proud. They were great with the children and staff from the start to the end of the day. We laughed, cried {at some of there bad jokes} but loved the whole experience.
The show they put on at the beginning was brilliant and enjoyed by all. They then taught the children a whole range of skills and learnt every childs name by the end of the day! We had a parent show at 2pm {our first experience of inviting parents to a school event for 18 months!} and the turn out was incredible. All parents and grandparents joined in working with the children and the performance lasted about 80 minutes! The feedback from parents was just so good and my staff had one of the best days they have ever had! Please can this be sent to the boss/owner of the company as I think you all deserve some credit for making this day so memorable! “

The Science of Circus

"Complex tasks such as juggling produce significant changes to the structure of the brain, according to scientists at Oxford University.
In the journal, Nature Neuroscience, the scientists say they saw a 5% increase in white matter - the cabling network of the brain." In brief, learning a new skill such as Juggling can hard wire our brains to work better and faster! Circus skills help develop and improve concentration skills. This is particularly evident in those children with shorter attention spans. When we run Circus skills workshops in schools the teachers are often amazed that one or more children who usually have a problem concentrating are doing better than anyone else in the class! Learning Circus skills also offers great benefits in terms of physical co-ordination and physical fitness. Circus workshops fit very well into the school curriculum under PE and co-ordination development. In fact there are many areas where Circus workshops offer great opportunities for curriculum enrichment.

Activities such as Circus skills have been used with great success as an educational tool, as an aid to learning as well as therapeutically with children at risk and with children with special needs. Autistic children have been observed to respond particularly well to Circus skills in schools. Circus skills are an opportunity for children and adults to discover and develop skills such as Concentration, Information retention, Concept visualisation, hand eye co-ordination and self awareness. These skills can then be used in many other settings including social situations and in conventional educational settings whilst learning the core subjects.
