“A great company to work with from the efficient and friendly admin to the super performer who came to work with children from 3-11 leaving every child with a new skill and a huge smile on their face! We enjoyed a Circus theme all day and would highly recommend Circus Sensible.”

" I would like to thank both Juan and yourself for a fantastic circus experience at our school. Despite appalling weather, Juan arrived and gave us an awesome demonstration to the school, before engaging in workshops all day. The sessions were well resourced and matched to all children's ability and confidence levels. His instructions and demonstrations made it really easy for everyone to understand and it was great to hear many children shout "Miss, I did it!" Thank you for a great experience, our school wouldn't hesitate to book you in the future and recommend you to other local schools”

" Circus Sensible are hired for 2 days of circus workshops and shows at our annual WAM Festival. Every year they are our biggest hit, with everyone learning new skills and feeling entertained. They engage really well with the crowd and are a pleasure to work with. We look forward to having you again next year! "

" Just wanted to drop a quick line to say what a fantastic two days both the children and the staff have had. The circus team were fabulous from the minute they arrived and set up. They made sure to include all the children even those that were frightened or had special needs and were sitting outside of the tent by getting one of the performers to be outside with them. I would have no hesitation in recommending circus sensible to any school. The buzz around school has been fantastic"

The Science of Circus

"Complex tasks such as juggling produce significant changes to the structure of the brain, according to scientists at Oxford University.
In the journal, Nature Neuroscience, the scientists say they saw a 5% increase in white matter - the cabling network of the brain." In brief, learning a new skill such as Juggling can hard wire our brains to work better and faster! Circus skills help develop and improve concentration skills. This is particularly evident in those children with shorter attention spans. When we run Circus skills workshops in schools the teachers are often amazed that one or more children who usually have a problem concentrating are doing better than anyone else in the class! Learning Circus skills also offers great benefits in terms of physical co-ordination and physical fitness. Circus workshops fit very well into the school curriculum under PE and co-ordination development. In fact there are many areas where Circus workshops offer great opportunities for curriculum enrichment.

Activities such as Circus skills have been used with great success as an educational tool, as an aid to learning as well as therapeutically with children at risk and with children with special needs. Autistic children have been observed to respond particularly well to Circus skills in schools. Circus skills are an opportunity for children and adults to discover and develop skills such as Concentration, Information retention, Concept visualisation, hand eye co-ordination and self awareness. These skills can then be used in many other settings including social situations and in conventional educational settings whilst learning the core subjects.
